Our Approach
Performance psychology, built by someone who's run a business.
Your psychology is a business asset - it’s measurable, it’s trainable and we build it.
Hi, I'm Byron, founder of Sublime Studio. Before becoming a psychologist, I ran a venture back FinTech in London. During this time, I tried to find support that balanced psychological depth with an understanding of what it is to build a business, and I couldn't find it. And that's why I founded Sublime Studio and created the psychological support system that we use with business owners to support them to make better decisions, think clearly, and lead effectively under pressure.
And all while not sacrificing the other areas of their lives that are important to them. Now I see it all the time: leaders who are growing their businesses without growing how they lead. The thing is that teams grow, decisions take on a new weight, but the same habits and behaviors keep showing up. As a Sublime member, you have a Performance Psychologist in your corner. You're also supported by extensive psychometric data and tracking.
And alongside that, you're part of a community of other business owners who see the benefit in investing in themselves as much as they do any other area of the business. You'll meet them through our member breakfast and events that we run. I'll end by saying that your Psychological Capital is a business asset. It's measurable, it's trainable, and we build it.
The Evidence
Psychological Capital isn't a Sublime idea.
Psychological Capital was defined by Fred Luthans and colleagues in the early 2000s as four measurable, developable capacities - hope, self-efficacy (confidence), resilience and optimism - that together predict how people perform at work. It has a validated instrument and more than two decades of peer-reviewed research behind it.1
The evidence is consistent. A meta-analysis across 96,000 participants found higher Psychological Capital linked to stronger performance, satisfaction and wellbeing, along with lower stress.2 And in a study of 384 business owners, higher Psychological Capital was associated with greater entrepreneurial success.3
And it's trainable. A meta-analysis shows interventions raise Psychological Capital, and that the effect holds across settings.4 Most of this research was done with leaders and employees inside organisations. Sublime's contribution is applying it to business owners - where the decisions are personal and the stakes are the whole business.
The Work
How we build
Psychological Capital
The Sublime method is the same for every member and every Sublime psychologist: measure, train, support, review. It's how the work stays practical and how you can see it working.
- 01
Measure
A baseline mental fitness assessment sets the starting point. Fortnightly Pulse check-ins track it from there, so you and your psychologist are working from data.
- 02
Train
Two sessions a month, focused on real situations you are navigating. You leave with a clearer read on it and something specific to practise.
- 03
Support
Message your psychologist between sessions or book quick check-ins. The work doesn't stop at the door - you have a psychologist in your corner.
- 04
Review
Every quarter, you and your psychologist go through the Pulse data together: what's shifted, what hasn't, and where to focus next. This is how you grow.
Sublime Pulse
What Pulse tracks and why

The Sublime Score
A measure of mental fitness, taken every fortnight. It draws on your Psychological Capital along with how you're actually holding up - energy, focus, pressure. That's the trend line.
Values alignment, by area
How closely your time and energy match what matters to you - in the business and outside it. That's the grid. Drift here affects how you show up in your business.
What the data is for
Your psychologist uses Pulse to spot patterns early and bring them into session, and to turn what it's seeing into short, practical prompts between check-ins.
Psychological performance is key to my functioning well as a founder. Just as I go to the gym to work out physically, I use Sublime Studio to keep my head sharp and get coaching around clarity, decision-making, and managing the pressure of building a company. It's how I stay balanced and effective.

Professional Standards
The standards behind the work
Registered psychologist
Every Sublime psychologist is registered with AHPRA. That brings professional training, a code of ethics and accountability to every session - none of which a coach is required to have.
Confidentiality
What you bring is treated confidentially, within the limits of professional and legal obligations. Your psychologist will explain those limits at the start, so you know exactly what's protected.
Scope
Sublime is performance psychology. It isn't diagnosis or clinical treatment. If clinical support would serve you better, your psychologist will say so and help you find it.
